Design & Technology
Head of Department: G Bartlett
Departmental facilities are housed in two main areas, one set up as a graphics / work room and the other being a practical based workshop. These contain 16 networked computers with programs dedicated for graphic design and presentation.
Design Technology is an integral part of the lower school curriculum, timetabled using small teaching groups within a rotational system. Projects are extended and developed from initial ideas into a final design using project booklets. These also act as a guide for the record keeping of new knowledge, techniques and material use.
The upper school option system allows study to GCSE level in two disciplines, D&T Resistant Materials and D&T Graphic Products.
