Scholarships and Bursaries
The Gregg School offers a number of scholarships and means tested bursaries.Scholarships
Academic scholarships are awarded to the top performers in the January entrance examination. Each year the Trustees agree the level and number of awards - last year the top performing students were offered scholarships up to 33.3%.
The school also offers a music scholarship and an art scholarship to students entering the school in year 7. Registration to sit either of these examinations may be made up until a week prior to the January entrance examination by contacting the school office. These scholarships normally involve assistance of up to 30% and 20% respectively. In addition, we offer a sports scholarship of 20% to students with outstanding sporting ability who compete at county level. A written statement should be made to the Bursar detailing achievements and current standing.
Scholarships may be topped up with a means tested bursary.Means Tested Bursaries
Means Tested Bursaries are awarded following an assessment of family income and assets. The maximum combined level of assistance is normally 50%, however in extreme circumstances further support may be considered.
Please contact the Bursar to request a Means Tested Bursary Application form or to discuss your individual circumstances.
It is requested that applications are submitted to the Bursar prior to the January entrance examination. A decision will normally be conveyed within three weeks of that date.
Successful applicants will be asked to complete further applications on an annual basis to assess any significant changes in circumstances. In this respect the Trustees reserve the right to withdraw or reduce the bursary.
