Charity and Community Involvement
With the ever-increasing emphasis by society on examination results, tests and league tables, it is easy to forget that these are only part of education. The acquisition of knowledge and skills is, of course, extremely important. However, education should also enable students to gain a wider understanding of their place in society, and to develop an appreciation of the needs of those less fortunate than themselves.
The Gregg School has an enviable reputation for involvement in charitable projects and we are delighted to report that we have maintained this reputation over the last year, not only by continuing our calendar of well-established events, but also by participation in new ventures, raising over £10,000 for a range of worthy causes. Further details may be found in the 2009-2010 Charities and Community Programme report.
