Form 5
Harvest Similes, by Sofia
Apples as juicy as fresh, green watermelon
Raspberries as pink as a very pretty flamingo
Corn as dry as a high-powered turbo-dryer
Grapes as tiny as a sparkling glass marble
Pineapples as fresh as the lovely new moon
Watermelon as crunchy as hot, fried potatoes
Pickles as salty as fresh, white salt from the sea
Harvest Similes, by Sukhpreet
Apples as red as the sun setting in the moonlight,
just like red ink
Blackberries as black as an un-moonlit night
Pears as green as new summer leaves on a big tree
in the Amazon
Corn as yellow as a fierce lion’s fur
Pumpkins as orange as the flames
from the Great Fire of London

Gran, by Arshia
She keeps going to the pool
And exercise areas,
I love her minty breath,
She always likes to have fun,
Her face like a fluffy fluff,
She stands like a tree,
Her teeth are very white
Her cheek is like fluff,
Her hand is old and wrinkly.
With purple veins going up her hand,
Her superb cooking and
She always calls me TWINKERBELLS.
The Humpback Whale, by Amelia Brooks-Everist
The whale moves through the water,
Silently in the sea,
Would never hurt a fly,
But feels like it’s coming for me.
It weighs three hundred tonnes,
With knobbles on its head,
With markings on its belly,
That look like silver lead.
He could be my worst enemy,
Or could be my best friend,
And they are dying out
But live in memory ‘till the end.
The whale song is so lovely,
A gentle moaning sound,
Carrying in the water,
In the deep sea so profound.
The whales live near the coastline,
But not going for the kill,
Just looking for some nourishment,
Hopefully some krill
The Wolf, by Jordan
The wolf howls at the moon for its prey.
The wolf pounces to scar its prey.
The wolf is always ready to hunt.
The mouse runs at the howl of the wolf.
The wolf marks his territory in the Canadian forests.
The grey mark of the wolf frightens the beaver.
The wolf drags its prey with forty-two ferocious teeth,
Blood dripping from his canines
BANG!
The wolf tries to get up.
BANG!
But has the hunter become the hunted?
