Science: Evaporation Experiment, by George
Aim: we had to find out the rate of evaporation in different shaped tubs; Shallow, Medium and Deep.
Prediction: the tub with shallow water will evaporate quickly. The medium tub will evaporate slower and the deep tub will evaporate the slowest.
Method:
- Get three different depth tubs.
- Fill the tubs with the same amount of water.
- Put the tubs in the same place to make the test fair.
- Wait for a few days until the test is complete.
- Measure how much water has evaporated.
Fair Testing:
- We made the test fair by using the same amount of water.
- We put the tubs in the same place.
- We tested each container for the same amount of time.
Diagram:

Results:
Volume of water at start of experiment on Monday (ml) |
250ml |
250ml |
250ml |
Volume of water at end of experiment on next Monday (ml) |
0ml |
91ml |
195ml |
Amount of water evaporated (ml) |
250ml |
159ml |
55ml |
Conclusion:
The more shallow and widespread the water is it will evaporate quickly because the surface area is wider shallower. The water is easier to heat.
Scrooge, by Victor
Selfish, savage and mean,
Cruel as a wild cat,
Rude as a rat,
Once he was a loving child.
Other people shake at his heartless words.
Grumpy, grouchy and bad-tempered,
Excluding Christmas from his life.
